About S4S Data

Spit for Science collects longitudinal phenotypic survey data as well as genotypic data from our registrants. We make these data available to qualified researchers in a de-identified format and take many measures to protect the privacy of our participants. The resulting phenotypic datasets contain an array of measures collected from over 12,000 participants at up to five timepoints during their college careers.

Collaborators who are brand new to S4S, or those who want more detailed information about our surveys are encouraged to request access to our codebooks. We also host collaborator clinics, which are information sessions for potential and existing data collaborators. Email spit4science@vcu.edu for more information.

About S4S Genotypic Data

The majority of Spit for Science participants also opted to provide a DNA (saliva) sample as part of participation in our research. To date over 11,000 samples have been collected and the genotyped (GWAS) data are available for access by qualified researchers.
